Truck vs Pedestrian Crash near West Southgate Avenue Left One Fatality
FULLERTON, CA (November 21, 2023) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian collision on South Brookhurst Road took the life of one person.
Police responded to the collision around 7:13 p.m. in the area of South Brookhurst Rd and West Southgate Avenue.
According to the report, a black Dodge 3500 pickup truck going south on Brookhhurst hit a pedestrian crossing the street to the west. Investigators claimed that the truck driver failed to stop on time.
Responding medical personnel unfortunately declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the 78-year-old Whittier man driving the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the collision. Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
