36-Year-Old Patterson Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Grant Line Road

TRACY, CA (November 21, 2023) – One victim was fatally struck early Saturday morning, in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 205.

Dispatchers responded to the scene around 3:45 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway just west of Grant Line Road.

Officers say the driver of a Peterbilt truck pulled over on the right shoulder to check on a Toyota driver that had been involved in a crash.

As the truck driver was walking back to his vehicle, the driver of a Kia struck him. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the 36-year-old man from Patterson dead at the scene.

In addition, the female Kia driver suffered minor injuries. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. 

No further details regarding the Interstate 205 pedestrian collision have been released to the public. Tracy Officials will provide more information about the fatal incident once available.
