37-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Encinitas Boulevard 

ENCINITAS, CA (November 21, 2023) – Wednesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on El Camino Real.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., at the 200 block of North El Camino Real, near Encinitas Boulevard.

Officers say the driver of a northbound Hyundai Santa Fe SUV struck a man that was running across the road in an easterly direction. 

Emergency personnel performed life-saving efforts on the victim before transporting him to a local hospital. The San Diego County Sheriff confirmed the death of the pedestrian shortly after. 

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
