18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident near Lincoln Avenue

OAKLAND, CA (November 21, 2023) – Sunday night, Arif Mohammed was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision on Highway 13.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m., just south of Lincoln Avenue.

Per reports, the driver of a black Toyota Corolla collided with a Zipcar. The driver of the Zipcar and its passenger exited their vehicle and walked onto the shoulder of the road.

There, the driver of a second black sedan hit the Zipcar passenger while they were standing on the road. The driver then fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the victim dead. The Alameda County Coroner later identified the victim as 18-year-old Mohammed, of New York City. 

Moreover, the driver of the Zipcar did not sustain injuries. Police are currently searching for the other driver involved.
