Passenger Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near A Street

HAYWARD, CA (November 21, 2023) – Thursday night, one passenger was killed in a 4-vehicle collision on Interstate 880. 

According to CHP, the collision happened around 9:50 p.m. along the northbound lanes of 880, just south of A Street. 

At this time, the circumstances that led up to the collision remain unclear. However, authorities claimed that the crash involved a Ford F-350, a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry, and a Toyota Tacoma. 

First responders declared a passenger inside the Corolla dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, the other parties involved in the incident remained at the scene, except the driver of the Camry who fled on foot. 

Hayward officials will release the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been notified.
