Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Anaheim Street
LONG BEACH, CA (November 16, 2023) – Sunday evening, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Alamitos Avenue.
Dispatchers arrived to the scene around 10:50 p.m., at the 1300 block of Alamitos Avenue, near Anaheim Street.
Per reports, the driver of a northbound vehicle struck a man who was standing in the middle of Alamitos Avenue. Upon impact, the driver failed to pull over and fled the scene without contacting authorities.
Responding emergency personnel transported the man to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office will provide the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been notified.
At this time, authorities are asking those who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run to contact the detectives at 562-570-7355. Once available, more details will be provided.
