7-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision near Matthew Street

BERKELEY, CA (November 15, 2023) – A hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Derby Street last Tuesday evening sent a young boy to a hospital.

Around 6:30 p.m., police responded to the scene at the 1200 block of Derby Street near Matthew Street on Halloween night.

According to reports, the driver of a dark sedan hit a child trick-or-treating with his mother. However, the driver of the vehicle did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene.

Responding medical personnel transported the 7-year-old boy to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition.
