Pedestrian Fatally Struck in DUI Accident near West Lake Mead Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 14, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, Jose Ramirez was arrested after a DUI pedestrian collision on Decatur Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m., near West Lake Mead Boulevard on November 4th.
Per reports, 51-year-old Ramirez was driving a silver 2010 Honda Pilot SUV east on West Lake Mead Boulevard and attempted to enter North Decatur Boulevard.
A tire on the Honda then popped, causing Ramirez to lose control and crash into a raised curb. The Honda then traveled onto the sidewalk where it struck a pedestrian.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released their identity.
Meanwhile, crews evaluated Jose Ramirez who showed signs of impairment. Following preliminary investigations, officers arrested Ramirez for DUI charges resulting in the death. He was then booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
