80-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near 18th Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 26, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, Jian Huang was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Valencia Street.

The deadly collision happened around 1:30 p.m., at the intersection of Valencia and 18th Street.

Officers say the driver of an SUV made a left turn onto Valencia from 18th Street and struck a man who was within a marked crosswalk.

Responding officers discovered the victim unconscious at the scene. He was eventually transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased pedestrian as 80-year-old Huang, of San Francisco. 

Authorities said the involved driver stayed at the scene and impairment does not appear to be a factor. Once available, further details will be provided.
