28-Year-Old Passenger Fatally Injured in Rideshare Accident near Shea Boulevard
PHOENIX, AZ (September 14, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Alec Carbine was killed in a rideshare collision on Tatum Boulevard.
Around 2:00 a.m., officers received dispatch calls near Shea Boulevard about a two-car crash in the area.
Investigators say the female driver of a vehicle with three passengers failed to stop at a red light and struck a rideshare vehicle.
Paramedics arrived and took a passenger from the rideshare car, 28-year-old Carbine to a nearby hospital where he later died. Meanwhile, the driver sustained minor injuries.
In addition, one passenger inside the woman’s vehicle suffered serious injuries while the other two suffered minor wounds.
Following preliminary duties, police do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
