Steven Gonzales Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Collision on Springdale Street [Huntington Beach, CA]

70-Year-Old Male Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash near Heil Avenue 

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (September 13, 2023) – Sunday night, Steven Gonzales was killed in a hit-and-run bicycle collision on Springdale Street.

Authorities responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m., near Heil Avenue. 

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck three cyclists in the area without stopping.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one of the bicyclists dead at the scene. Police later identified the deceased victim as 70-year-old Gonzales, of Huntington Beach.

At this time, police are searching for a black Toyota four-door sedan with major front passenger-side bumper damage. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
