Two-Vehicle Collision Near Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Resulted to Fatality

SANTA CLARITA, CA (September 12, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a head-on crash on Golden Valley Road left one person dead and resulted in major traffic delays.

The fatal collision happened around 5:50 a.m. at the 26200 block of Golden Valley Road near Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Based on the preliminary investigation, a northbound vehicle on Golden Valley Road crossed over the center median.

Subsequently, the car collided head-on with a motorcycle and two other vehicles going in the opposite direction.

Responding emergency personnel declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.

Another patient was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, authorities are working to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident. The south side of Golden Valley Road remained closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene.
