29-Year-Old Man Arrested after Hit-and-Run Accident near Caldwell Avenue
VISALIA, CA (September 12, 2023) – Thursday morning, police arrested Marco Martinez after a hit-and-run DUI collision on Highway 198.
Police responded to the scene around 10:00 a.n., near Caldwell Avenue.
According to reports, a witness provided officers with directions to a suspect after a hit-and-run crash in the area. Crews followed the vehicle before it came to a stop in the area of Country Center Drive and Caldwell Avenue.
The two men inside the vehicle fled the scene on foot before officers located them a short distance later. Officers also discovered a loaded 9mm handgun inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Following preliminary duties, police arrested 29-year-old Marco Martinez for suspected DUI causing injury, hit-and-run, and other related charges
His passenger – 28-year-old Homero Alonso – was transported to Kawaeh Health Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
