Man Seriously Injured Following Pedestrian vs Vehicle Accident near Coolidge Street
PHOENIX, AZ (August 23, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian sustained injuries in a collision near 7th Avenue, police said.
According to the Phoenix police, it occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m., August 13th, in the area just south of Camelback Road.
Investigation showed that the pedestrian was crossing mid-block when the vehicle, which was headed northbound on 7th Avenue struck him.
Furthermore, the man suffered life-threatening injuries, and emergency personnel transported him to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Additionally, the driver of the vehicle obtained minor wounds only and authorities took him to the hospital as a precaution.
Consequently, the officers suspected alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident.
Meanwhile, the officers blocked the lanes at the intersection while they conducted further investigation.
