Driver Struck and Killed in Traffic Crash Near Avenue 328
TULARE COUNTY, CA (July 3, 2023) – Tuesday night, a car accident on Highway 99 claimed the life of a 32-year-old man.
The fatal incident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. along the southbound SR-99, north of Avenue 328.
According to the police, a Ford driver veered onto the left and into the center divider before crashing into a concrete wall.
Reports from the incident stated the Ford driver managed to exit the vehicle that was partially blocking the Highway 99 fast lane. However, investigators claimed that the driver failed to activate his hazard lights.
Before the authorities arrived, they were notified that a Chevrolet hit the right front side of the Ford. The collision caused the Ford to spin and hit the driver standing outside his vehicle.
Ultimately, both drivers were transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital where the Ford driver succumbed to his injuries. He was only identified to be a 32-year-old man.
The 49-year-old female Chevrolet driver remained at the hospital in an unknown condition.
Tulare County Officials ruled out drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the fatal accident.
