43-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead Following Red-Light Car Crash Near Rimpau Avenue

CORONA, CA (May 9, 2023)Wednesday night, a 43-year-old man lost his life after a two-car collision on Foothill Parkway.

The accident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. near Rimpau Avenue.

According to the CHP, a man driving a Tesla at a green light at the intersection was struck by a Ford F-150 driver who reportedly ran a red light. The impact of the collision resulted in fatal injuries to the Corona man driving the Tesla.

Meanwhile, medics rushed the passenger of the Tesla, a 45-year-old Corona man and the 26-year-old male driver of the Ford to a nearby trauma center with minor injuries.

Police, at this time, have not released the identities of all parties involved. Officers currently ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the fatal collision on Foothill Parkway.

An active investigation is ongoing and Corona officials will post an update once they become available.
