31-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

PHOENIX, AZ (March 1, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash near Elwood Street claimed the life of Juan Bazan.

The incident happened on February 25th, at around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Street and Elwood Street, just south of Salt River.

According to reports, Bazan was walking in the area when he was struck by a white-colored passenger car. After injuring the pedestrian, the driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Investigator reported that the suspected vehicle drove off southbound along 7th Street toward Broadway Road. Police are still trying to find the involved driver.

Meanwhile, emergency crews arrived to the site of the collision and found Bazan unconscious on the highway. There, medics pronounced 31-year-old Juan Bazan dead at the scene.
