22-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run near Mugu Rock
VENTURA, CA (January 27, 2023) – Wednesday night, Alena Pascuali was killed and Keith McDowell Satyananda was arrested after a hit-and-run.
The incident occurred around 10:10 p.m., on Pacific Coast Highway just north of Mugu Rock.
According to reports, the driver of a 2021 Mazda SUV struck two people standing next to a parked 2022 Mazda.
Upon impact, the Mazda driver fled the scene without contacting authorities or rendering aid to the injured victims.
Upon arrival, units from the California Highway Patrol located a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries on the northbound shoulder of the highway. Due to the extent of her condition, medics pronounced 22-year-old Pascuali, of Riverside dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 30-year-old man from San Gabriel to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of significant injuries.
Eventually, authorities managed to arrest 46-year-old Keith McDowell Satyananda on Friday with several charges, including DUI. His bail was set at $100,000 during the hearing, where he pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations.
