Victim Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash near Hoag Drive
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (November 23, 2022) – Sunday, one victim was killed and two were hurt in a rear-end collision on Pacific Coast Highway.
The crash happened around 8:00 p.m., in the 3300 block of the westbound lanes of PCH, between Hoag Drive and Riverside Avenue on November 20th.
According to police, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz rear-ended a parked box-truck that was unoccupied.
Upon impact, the male driver of the Mercedes suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, two other occupants needed extrication and were transported to Mission Hospital.
The current conditions of the two injured victims are not available at this time.
Additionally, authorities closed the road for approximately four hours to allow during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
