Pedestrian Accident near Loop 202 Left One Fatality

PHOENIX, AZ (November 14, 2022) Wednesday afternoon, one person died in a pedestrian crash near 51st Avenue.

The incident happened on the northbound lanes of Loop 202 South Mountain involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Furthermore, police arrived to the scene and pronounced one unidentified person dead.

The events leading up to and surrounding the fatal incident are still under active investigation at this time.

Meanwhile, the lanes on Loop 202 were briefly blocked but was later reopened just after 5:00 p.m., to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

No other information was released and an active investigation is currently ongoing.
