Auto Collision near Highway 126 Left One Fatality

SANTA CLARITA, CA (November 9, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Miguel Guarchaj Rosario lost his life following a car accident on 5 Freeway.

Dispatchers responded to the scene around 3:13 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Highway 126 and Newhall Ranch Road. 

Investigators say the driver of a vehicle struck a disabled car with no lights on. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, officers pronounced one man dead at the scene.

Santa Clarita Officials later identified the deceased victim as 27-year-old Miguel Guarchaj Rosario.

Authorities issued a SigAlert at 3:41 a.m. and shut down all the southbound freeway lanes as crews worked to clear the scene.
