Woman and 2-Year-Old Dog Attacked by Two Pitbulls near Campbell Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (October 18, 2022) – Tuesday morning, Heather Isgrigg and her dog, Stanley, suffered injuries in a dog attack on 19th Street.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m., near Campbell Avenue on September 26th.

According to Isgrigg, the owner of two pitbulls lost control of her dogs. The pitbulls then attacked Isgrigg and Stanley, leaving Isgrigg with bite marks on her wrist and Stanley with a hole in his front leg.

The ordeal lasted for about 20 minutes before passersby gave Isgrigg some mace that she used to get the pitbull to release Stanley. The owner of the pitbulls then left the scene with her dogs. Officials have not yet identified who she is.

Meanwhile, Isgrigg took Stanley to the vet where they amputated his leg due to the extent of his injuries.

At this time, Maricopa County Animal Control is handling the investigation. Officials encourage any witnesses to the attack to contact them at 602-506-7387.

Additionally, Heather Isgrigg’s mother has set up a GoFundMe to support the costs of Stanley’s vet bills and rehabilitation.
