18-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian Accident near West Avenue L

QUARTZ HILL, CA (October 4, 2022) – Sunday night, Robert Moreno was involved in a pedestrian crash on 42nd Street.

The incident happened on September 25th around 10:07 p.m., at the intersection of 42nd Street West and West Avenue L.

According to police, a pedestrian was walking in the westbound lanes for reasons unknown. Afterward, a 2004 Honda Element traveling in the westbound lanes struck the victim.

Officers later pronounced the deceased victim, an 18-year-old resident of Lancaster, dead at the scene.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, the involved driver was identified as 52-year-old Robert Moreno. He sustained no injuries and cooperated with the authorities.

Further investigation is underway.
