17-Year-Old Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Collision near McQueen High School

RENO, NV (September 28, 2022) – Monday morning, Holli McCarty was arrested after a hit-and-run collision on West Seventh Street critically injured one.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m., along West Seventh Street near Sapphire Ridge Way, according to Reno authorities.

Per reports, a 17-year-old boy was crossing the roadway near Sapphire Ridge Way when he was struck by a passing car.

Police quickly located the involved driver, later identified as 40-year-old Holli McCarty, who fled after the initial collision.

Meanwhile, emergency crews quickly hospitalized the teenager for treatment of critical injuries.

Furthermore, McCarty was arrested for the hit-and-run collision causing bodily injury as well as driving without a valid driver’s license.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. No further information regarding the hit-and-run collision near McQueen High School is available at this time, an active investigation is currently underway.
