Hit-and-Run near 39th Street in San Diego Left One-Year-Old Dead
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 28, 2022) – Saturday, Margarito Angeles-Vargas was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that killed Annaleeh Rodarte.
The deadly incident happened just before 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Redwood Street and 39th Street.
According to the investigators, Rodarte wandered into the street when she was struck by an eastbound SUV, driven by Angeles-Vargas, on Redwood. Following the collision, Angeles-Vargas continued driving and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Medical responders arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. At the hospital, one-year-old Annaleeh Rodarte succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead due to the extent of her condition.
Meanwhile, authorities managed to arrest 45-year-old Angeles-Vargas after witnesses told the officers about an involved Toyota 4Runner. Angeles-Vargas is facing suspected DUI charges, hit-and-run, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
