25-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Stone Avenue
TUCSON, AZ (September 19, 2022) – Friday night, police arrested Devi Marie Stubblefield after a pedestrian crash on Grant Road.
The incident happened on September 9th, just before 7:00 p.m. in the area of North Stone Avenue and East Grant Road.
According to reports, the crash involved a pedestrian and a 2007 Cadillac SRX. The Cadillac was driven by 25-year-old Stubblefield. Stubblefield was traveling eastbound when it struck the pedestrian crossing on a crosswalk with green light.
Paramedics transported the victim to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
Additionally, the Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit arrived at the scene and evaluated Stubblefield for impairment where she was determined impaired at the time of the crash. Authorities booked the woman to Pima County Jail with charges of causing death by use of a vehicle and other pending charges.
