Female Victim Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision near Laureles Grade
SALINAS, CA (August 8, 2022) – Sunday morning, a three-vehicle crash on Highway 68 claimed the life of a woman and injured two others.
The incident happened around 9:00 a.m., on Highway 68, just west of Laureles Grade.
According to the investigators, a woman driving a westbound Ford minivan intentionally rear-ended a Lexus and a Ford transit van. The minivan driver then lost control and veered across the eastbound lanes before going down an embankment, striking multiple trees.
Due to the impact of the collision, one woman sustained life-threatening injuries. California Highway Patrol responded and pronounced the female driver of the minivan dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other two drivers suffered minor injuries. At this time, the identities of those involved in the multi-car crash have not been made public.
Salinas Officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the Highway 68 three-vehicle crash.
