49-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck near Country Club Drive
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (August 9, 2022) – Thursday morning, 49-year-old Sheri Gustafson was killed in a motorcycle collision on Interstate 40.
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m., near westbound Country Club Drive. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, a motorcyclist and semi-truck attempted to turn left onto Country Club Drive from I-40. There, the turning truck’s trailer struck the motorcycle.
Emergency personnel arrived shortly afterward and pronounced 49-year-old Gustafson dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
At this time, officials do not consider drugs and alcohol to be factors in this crash. However, an active investigation is still underway.
