Fatal Pedestrian Crash along Escondido 215 Freeway

RIVERSIDE, CA (August 3, 2022) – Early Monday morning, police responded to a pedestrian collision on the 215 Freeway that claimed the life of one person.

The crash happened on August 1st, at around 2:28 a.m., on Escondido (215) Freeway, when a man walking on the freeway was struck by a vehicle.

According to CHP, officers received a call from the driver of a silver Mercedes that said they struck someone on the freeway.

Furthermore, authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced one man dead. Emergency crews temporarily shutdown all lanes of the freeway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, no further information about the pedestrian collision along the 215 Freeway has been released at this time.
