Multi-Car Collision on Washington Avenue Left One Dead, Driver Arrested
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 22, 2022) – Georgina Madrigal Olivarez lost her life and Jerry Madera was arrested after a DUI crash on Torrey Pines Drive.
The incident happened at 2:30 p.m. along the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Washington Avenue, per initial reports.
Furthermore, according to authorities, Madera was speeding westbound on Washington approaching the intersection in a Toyota Rav 4 and ran a red light before colliding with a vehicle turning in the area.
The impact of the collision killed the 33-year-old driver of the second vehicle, identified as Georgina Madrigal Olivarez.
Police stated the initial collision triggered a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles, igniting 18-year-old Madera’s car.
Authorities eventually charged him with reckless driving and a DUI.
Meanwhile, crews closed the intersection for several hours for preliminary and cleaning duties.
