Victim Hospitalized after Rear-End Collision near Smokey Bear Road
GORMAN, CA (July 21, 2022) – Late Monday morning, one victim was airlifted to a hospital after a multi-vehicle rollover crash on 5 Freeway.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Dispatchers responded to the collision near Smokey Bear Road shortly after.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Land Rover lost control and overturned on the freeway. In addition, the Land Rover rear-ended a dump truck.
Medical responders transported one victim to a nearby hospital, via helicopter, for treatment of unspecified injuries.
At this time, authorities temporarily closed the southbound 5 Freeway to allow for cleaning and preliminary duties.
At this time, the identities of those involved in the multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway have not been disclosed. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
