20-Year-Old Woman Dead, Driver Arrested after DUI Collision on U.S. 95

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 29, 2022) – 20-year-old Katherine Garcia lost her life Saturday after an alleged DUI collision on U.S. 95.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. north of mile marker 39 along the southbound U.S. 95., per initial reports.

According to authorities, a blue Honda failed to stay in their marked lane and began to rotate counter-clockwise and entered the shoulder before crashing into the center median.

As a result, the car overturned and ejected one of its passenger, 20-year-old Garcia. Unfortunately, first responders pronounced Garcia dead at the scene.

Meanwhile officers arrested the driver, Pierre Angelo Betancourt Oliver, on multiple charges following the crash.

Following the investigation, police believed impairment was a factor in the crash. Las Vegas Police will release further information once it becomes available.
