Crash near Loop 101 Left One Woman Injured, Two Dead

TOLLESON, AZ (June 28, 2022) – On Friday, a woman sustained injuries and two girls died in a street sweeper accident on Interstate 10.

The incident took place around 3:00 a.m. along westbound Interstate 10 at Loop 101, per initial reports.

Furthermore, according to authorities, a street sweeper fell from the Loop 101 overpass onto the Interstate 10 freeway, nearly 20 feet below for unknown reasons.

First responders arrived and discovered a 37-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl inside the truck.

Consequently, the vehicle rolled and fell off the freeway. Reports said a 10-year-old girl was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported the mother and her youngest daughter to the hospital, where the girl later died.

Authorities currently withheld the names of all parties at this time.

The incident closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 for an extended period of time, but has since reopened.
