1 Injured, 1 Killed in Traffic Accident near Rimrock Road

APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 13, 2022) – A two-car collision on Highway 18 killed a woman and a dog Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 3:00 p.m. on the eastbound Highway 18, just east of Rimrock Road.

According to reports, a Kia driver lost control, causing the vehicle to cross the center median and into the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with a gray Nissan van.

When officers arrived they declared the female driver of the sedan and a small puppy dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, medics airlifted one male passenger to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the van, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries. Moreover, officials temporarily closed the area to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of all parties involved. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
