1 Killed, 1 Injured in Wrong-Way Accident near Bethany Home Road
PHOENIX, AZ (June 13, 2022) – Late Saturday night, one victim was pronounced dead following a wrong-way collision on State Route 51.
The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m., near Bethany Home Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, a vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes, eventually colliding head-on with another car. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transferred another person to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Although, authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
It is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
