54-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Reno Avenue
RENO, NV (June 10, 2022) – Tuesday night, Benito Octavo was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Maryland Parkway.
The accident happened on Maryland Parkway just south of Reno Avenue around 10:25 p.m.
According to police, an unidentified 20-year-old driver was heading south in the area. For reasons under investigation, the driver struck a male pedestrian who was in the roadway.
Additionally, it was reported the pedestrian was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when he entered the path of the driver. Moreover the pedestrian, identified as 54-year-old Octavo, died at the scene.
During preliminary duties, the involved driver showed no signs of impairment. This is the 67th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2022.
At this time, an active investigation into the deadly pedestrian crash is still currently underway.
