One Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Lynne Way

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 27, 2022) – Monday morning, one victim was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Watt Avenue.

The incident happened around 4:45 a.m., in the area of Watt Avenue and Lynne Way. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the pedestrian walked into traffic and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver failed to stop in time and struck the pedestrian.

Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Crews closed one lane of Watt Avenue before it was later reopened.

Authorities have not released the name of the driver and the deceased victim. However, an active investigation is underway.
