School Bus Involved in Two-Vehicle Collision on Kirkwood Road
CORNING, CA (May 23, 2022) – One driver sustained injuries Friday after a car and school bus collision on South Avenue, police said.
The incident happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Kirkwood Road.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, a Honda collided with a school bus at the intersection for unknown reasons.
When responding officers arrived, they discovered that the driver of the Honda had suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics also transported two other people to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. However, officers have not released their names and current conditions.
Meanwhile, the Orland Unified School District is aware of the accident and confirmed that all onboard the bus are safe and accounted for.
An active investigation remains underway and Corning police will release further information once available.
