Pedestrian Crash on Panama Lane Left One Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 1, 2022) – Saturday morning, a traffic accident on Edison Road left one pedestrian dead, police said.

The accident happened at around 11:44 a.m. on South Edison Road, north of Panama Lane.

Furthermore, police said that a vehicle with a speed of 55 mph struck a pedestrian who went westbound crossing lanes into the oncoming traffic.

Consequently, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported after the collision.

Subsequently, the Toyota driver fled the scene but returned later and cooperated with the investigators.

According to the preliminary investigation, neither drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the accident.
