Salinas Motorcyclist Killed after Van Makes Illegal U-Turn on West Alisal Street

SALINAS, CA (March 25, 2022) – Late Monday afternoon, a rider was fatally struck in a deadly motorcycle crash on Blanco Road.

According to the authorities, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m., when a van driving east on Blanco Road made an illegal U-turn near West Alisal Street.

The van turned right in front of a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction resulting in a collision. Upon impact, the involved driver fled the scene.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Although, their name and place of residency has not been provided.

Eventually, officers arrested the involved driver with significant charges. In addition, investigators say the suspect was driving recklessly prior to the deadly collision.

At this time, Salinas Officials are still working to identify further circumstances surrounding the incident.
