TEMECULA, CA (March 21, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a rider sustained injuries in a traffic accident near Temecula Parkway, police said.
California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 6:42 a.m., along the southbound side of the freeway.
Furthermore, Riverside County Firefighters arrived to the scene after receiving multiple reports of a vehicle collision with a motorcycle.
Moreover, witnesses told the CHP that a black Chevy Tahoe “made an unsafe lane change” and collided with a motorcyclist who was ejected to the roadway.
Additionally, reports also indicated that a silver Scion then struck the downed rider. The driver of that car stopped in the center divider and waited for officials.
As of 8:00 a.m., southbound traffic remained slow from the Interstate 15 through the Temecula Parkway/79 south exit.
Commuters clogged surface streets as they sought to avoid the I-15 traffic, creating heavy congestion in the area after the incident. Both directions of the road were shutdown for multiple hours to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
No further details regarding the traffic accident are public at this time; however, more information will be provided once made available.
