22-Year-Old Man Injured in Pedestrian Crash near Fairmount Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 17, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a man was hospitalized following a pedestrian collision on Home Avenue.
The incident happened around 3:45 a.m., on Home Avenue near Fairmount Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man ran into the street and was hit by a car, under unknown circumstances. The impact sent the man several feet into the air and he landed approximately 25 feet away.
Paramedics arrived and rushed the 22-year-old man to a nearby hospital. The pedestrian suffered from broken ribs and a lacerated spleen in addition to his head injury. Investigators said a witness saw the man arguing with his wife before he ran into the road.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officials. At this time, officials have not released information about the crash, but an active investigation is underway.
