Two Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash near West Community College Way
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 10, 2022) – Sunday night, Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda was arrested after a collision on North State Street.
According to reports, the crash happened along North State Street, just south of West Community College Way shortly before midnight.
Upon arrival, officers located a red Toyota Prius hatchback and dark gray Honda Civic coupe blocking the northbound lanes.
Investigators later determined that the driver of the southbound Honda lost control of their vehicle. As a result, the Honda careened across the road and jumped the center median before colliding head-on with an oncoming Toyota.
Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage and firefighters confirmed that one victim was trapped inside the Toyota. Firefighters performed a cut and rescue operation to extricate the injured victim from the Toyota.
San Jacinto officials later arrested 38-year-old Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda for suspicion of DUI. Crews also took her to a hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.
