Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Stony Point Road [Santa Rosa, CA]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Highway 12

SANTA ROSA, CA (March 4, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on Stony Point Road took the life of a male pedestrian, late Monday night.

Medics responded to the collision around 10:56 p.m., near Highway 12.

Officers say the driver of a southbound 2012 Nissan Altima sedan struck a man who was walking along the over-crossing from the west side of the road.

According to authorities, the pedestrian was dressed in dark clothing and was not within a marked crosswalk. Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan immediately pulled over and stayed at the scene for investigation. Following preliminary duties, authorities believed that drugs, alcohol, or the driver’s speed did not play a factor in the strike.

At this time, officials are still trying to identify the victim, who was in his mid 50’s or older. An investigation into the crash continues.
