24-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Struck in Collision on East Kelly Road
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (March 2, 2022) – Saturday night, Matthew Wennerstrom was killed in a motorcycle crash on Lynn Road.
According to the report, the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. near the intersection of Lynn Road and East Kelly Road.
Investigators say the motorcyclist was heading east on Lyn Road when he collided with a crossover SUV vehicle. However, further events leading up to the incident remain unclear.
Upon arrival, authorities located the motorcyclist lying on the ground. The 24-year-old motorcycle rider, Wennerstrom, died at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries.
Paramedics also transported the driver of the SUV to a hospital for further treatment. Officials closed Lynn Road for several hours to conduct an investigation.
Thousand Oaks residents remember Wennerstrom as one of the heroes of the 2018 Borderline Bar and Grill shooting who saved dozens of lives during the attack.
