53-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed after Two-Vehicle Crash near Lawrence Expressway
SANTA CLARA, CA (March 2, 2022) – David Michael Franklin was killed after a motorcycle collision on Monroe Street last Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:13 p.m. near the intersection of Monroe Street and Lawrence Expressway.
Furthermore a 70 year-old driver traveling west on Monroe Street, initiated a left turn into a gas station, directly into the path of Franklin.
Franklin, who was driving a motorcycle, crashed into the vehicle and sustained severe injuries.
First responders rushed 53-year-old Franklin to a hospital but later died due to the extent of his injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Police believed that drugs and/or alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
However, an investigation is ongoing.
