48-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash on Orizaba Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (February 18, 2022) – Thursday night, 48-year-old Willie Jackson was killed in a pedestrian collision on Artesia Boulevard.
According to the police, the crash happened around 8:32 p.m., in the area of Artesia Boulevard and Orizaba Avenue.
Eventually, officers arrived at the scene and located a man lodged underneath a 2011 Lincoln MKS.
Long Beach firefighters arrived and extricated the severely injured victim from underneath the vehicle. However, due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced Jackson dead at the scene.
Investigators claimed that the driver of an eastbound Lincoln hit the man while he was lying down in the roadway. Authorities only identified the driver as an unlicensed 17-year-old.
Additionally, the teen driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, Long Beach Officials are still currently investigating the incident.
