Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run on Artesia Boulevard [Long Beach, CA]

Hit-and-Run Crash on Rose Avenue Left One Pedestrian Dead

LONG BEACH, CA (February 16, 2022) – On Monday, a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run on Artesia Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol responded around 11:15 p.m. along Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue.

Furthermore, according to reports, a dark-colored sedan traveling eastbound struck a pedestrian standing in the eastbound lanes of Artesia Boulevard outside a marked crosswalk.

Moreover, paramedics arrived and took the victim to a local hospital where he later died.

Authorities only identified the deceased victim as a Long Beach man in his 30s.

On the other hand, the driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and continued driving eastbound on Artesia Boulevard.

CHP continues to urge witnesses to call detectives at 562-570-7355, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.

At this time, authorities believed that speed caused the impact, however, an active investigation is currently underway.
