Deadra Hughes Killed in Crash on 60 Freeway [Jurupa Valley, CA]

Anaheim Woman Killed in Semi-Truck Collision near Valley Way

JURUPA VALLEY, CA (February 8, 2022) – 54-year-old Deadra Hughes was killed in a big-rig crash on 60 Freeway, Tuesday evening.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 9:40 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Valley Way.

Officers say Hughes was driving a Nissan Rogue in the No. 3 lane and she approached a UPS big-rig ahead. For reasons unknown, Hughes rear-ended the tractor-trailer.

Upon impact, the Honda veered across all traffic lanes, before striking the median wall and coming to rest in the HOV lane. Eventually, Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department arrived and transported Hughes to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, the UPS driver remained uninjured. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Despite their life-saving efforts, 54-year-old Hughes died at the hospital about a half-hour later.

Investigators later claimed that the Nissan may have had disabled headlights before the incident occurred.

Furthermore, Jurupa Valley Officials are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.
