One Killed, 3 Hurt in DUI Collision near Bitterwater Road
CHOLAME, CA (February 2, 2022) – Monday afternoon, 60-year-old David Alan Schulte died in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 46.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 12:05 p.m., on January 31st.
Per reports, Jose T. Morales, 44, was driving a GMC Yukon west when he crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic. There, he struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was hauling a flatbed trailer.
In addition, Morales collided head-on with a Dodge 3500, truck driven by Schulte. Based on reports, Schulte died instantly while Morales sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The driver of the Jeep, 88-year-old Donald Erwin, and his unidentified passenger also sustained minor injuries.
